Now, THIS morning, I watched a bit of the Tour after I got up at 5:30 a.m. I ate my flakes, suited up (lycra shorts, bike to work t-shirt), and headed out.
Taking the lane in a construction zone with the blinding sun coming in low from the front is probably not the most brilliant idea, but there is not a lot of traffic, so I live for another day.
I've had more than one kite caught in a tree, I really need one of these suckers!

Went down a slightly different bike path in Hillside Park, then did the u-turn at Cuyamaca and headed back up the hill. Found a hard rubber ball, maybe a lacrosse ball, in the gutter. Picked it up.
Grinded up the hill a bit, then stopped and gathered some rocks. Ground some more hill, then placed the hard rubber maybe lacrosse ball on a fence post. Noticed the pink shoe is gone.
You will notice in the wikipedia article about the lacrosse ball, the technical term for it (unless someone has re-edited it) is a "stupid" ball. Hey, it's on wikipedia, it MUST be true!
Headed home, fed the neighborhood tailless cat.
Just over fifty miles on the Jamis trip odometer for the week.
