I dropped off four books at the library, then headed DOWN Jackson Drive hill, a much more pleasant way to, well, not traverse, maybe peregrinate, but not on foot!
Speaking of dropping, I dropped the camera on the garage floor before I even got three feet, loosing batteries all over. But nothing seems broken.
Only four people on the Father J. Serra Path To Enlightenment, and only one of those was a dog jogger. I hoped to see some wildlife, and had the camera ready (not, as it turns out), but, no joy.
Riding the ride in reverse was kinda weird.
I saw another fellow on a bike near the entrance to the bike path on Prospect in Santee.
Went to take a picture, camera was set to "movie" (from the drop), so got a short movie of him first.

He was an old guy (about my age?), riding kinda slow. He turned on the bike path and I followed him, although I COULD have ridden a LITTLE faster and passed him. We both passed a pedestrian on the path, I giving a cheery "Good Morning!" before I passed, then we both zipped across the intersection without stopping. On retrospect, a poor choice, as there were vehicles on our left that were turning right, and we may have caused them some concern. I apologize.
He turned right, up Weld on the sidewalk. I continued south on Cuyamaca in the bike lane. I turned around at Billy Mitchell Drive and headed back to Weld/South Marshall, turned right, and headed south again.
I crossed the trolley tracks. A hundred yards farther I heard the trolley coming up beside me (on the tracks, of course!). It started to slowly pass, then I slowly passed it! I was going faster than the trolley! I rock!
A few seconds later I realized it was slowing down for some sort of speed restriction, as it zoomed past me...
Just past the Toro manufacturing building I observed this low rider truck. Interesting mechanism, but how do you carry a refrigerator if you need to?

When I finally got to Fletcher Parkway I hung a right and grunted my way up the hill. Such a busy street, it is not terribly pleasant with smelly and loud vehicles speeding so close to one.
Eventually I made my way home, with around twenty miles on the odometer.
Fashion Note: I wore the long-sleeved jersey of red this morning. With the overcast, it worked out well.
Some sprint at the end of Stage 3 of Le Tour today!
Later!
