Rode to work again today.

The question is asked, re my post the other day, how did my music sentiments change.

I always felt a vague unhappiness with rock'n'roll and surf music. I felt unsatisfied, I guess I could say. I listened to a lot of light classical-type music, like the Grand Canyon Suite and Pictures At An Exhibition. Great stuff. But when I heard Cream's Sunshine Of Your Love, via a fellow in Summer School Auto Shop, it was an epiphany! I was like, WOW, this is ROCK MUSIC!

There was a bit of a fad in elementary school where we collected the Top Ten lists that each radio station in San Diego published. The top station was KCBQ, and one of the fellows knew the DJ called Happy Hare who autographed the lists for us. Every week it was a BIG DEAL to get the new one. One wonders where my collection disappeared to.

At least I don't have to wonder where my baseball and football cards went, I never really collected them. The only baseball card I remember treasuring was Clint Courtney, because he wore glasses and was a catcher. I had a Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, too, but Clint was The Man!
