I then headed east on all those little roads, through Casa de Oro, over to Avocado Blvd., then north to El Cajon.
Every time I ride on W. Chase I think of my grandmother.
Picked up some rocks, in the usual place No. 2.
Found this cell phone in front of Grossmont High School.

To paraphrase Lou Reed, I don't think that phone is ever going to call again. But someone more in the Heinleinian Self-Effacing Hero mode could probably whip up something from the parts, maybe a laser gun, or a sword!
I saw these little gas covers yesterday, took a picture today.

Right beside the little gas cover is this oddness. It is about six inches in diameter. What do you suppose it is?

Yesterday I said the trip odometer was at 66 miles for the week.
After today's ride the trip odometer is at 75 miles. (75.02, to be precise!)
Mapping the ride on Bikely (which has suddenly died, so I cannot link to it!), I get 13.5 miles. This does not compute!
