I noticed yesterday a little pink plastic shoe on Fletcher Parkway Hill (up). Today I stopped and stuck it on a fence post. Perhaps tomorrow I'll take a picture of it, if no one has claimed it by then.

As I passed this fellow in the bike lane I just wanted to say, "Sidewalk not working for you?", but I daren't.
About five seconds after I took the pic he moved his little rolling suitcase, and himself, on to the sidewalk.
Mileage for the week is just over 30. I oiled the chain on Jamis after the ride. I think I shall take advantage of my 10% card from Performance and purchase some more chain lube. ProLink, of course!

Ran across this link on fark.com, clicked and read same. Girl falls TWO MILES into the jungle (in 1971) and lives, walks TEN DAYS through jungle till some Peruvian lumberjacks run across her and take her to safety.
I found a library book card this morning that I had written something on and thought was important enough to put in the pannier and take home. It said "wax-flowers". I hadn't a clue what it meant. Was it a password I was trying to remember? What could it be? And as I'm typing this fascinating entry I remembered! At the retirement party I was wondering kind of flowers were in the centerpieces. I asked what's-her-name (Sally, darn it!)what they were. She said, "wax flowers." There you go!
