The street work progresses on Jackson Drive. The bike lane has been re striped, and it seems about a foot wider than before.

It's like a freeway!
In some sections the bike lane merges with the traffic lane. I had a couple of vehicles tailing me for a block, but they were cool about it. There are some Share The Lane signs up. Such a difference from the Fletcher Parkway apartment construction are I've whined about!
It rained (Well, a California rain. It SPRINKLED!) for about an hour. I managed to capture a shot of it before it evaporated away in the semi-sunny afternoon.

After work I headed up to the hospital area to the pharmacy. Talk about a busy road! With NO bike lanes! Next to a shopping center. One with a Wal-Mart. And leading to multi-plex of freeway ramps. It's pretty nerve racking! And narrow. Had to take the lane, with around ten cars behind. But they were cool, too.
After the pharmacy I headed over to vote, then headed home. Ended up with 21.6 miles for the two days of commuting.
After (Is that the only way I can start a paragraph?) I got home I finished reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfeild. Orson Scott Card recommended in the speech he gave for the Margaret Edwards Award that I read in Young Adult Library Services magazine. Since YOU probably don't have access to it, you can read his thoughts about the book in his blog from November 2006.
