Did the Dam Ride, including around the lake.
Since I started so early, there wasn't a lot of traffic going past the construction zone on Fletcher. You know the one, where I've incessantly complained about the lack of signage and the bike lane usurpation.
Near Albertson's I found this emblem for a Ford Ranger XL truck. If it is yours, claim it!
You get to glue it back together, though.
A couple'o three blocks further on I found another broken cell phone, a Cricket.
It's not in very good condition. Might have been ran over a few...dozen...times! Lot of people complaining about the service at Cricket, maybe that is how it ended up on the road.
Here's the serial number, is it yours?
At the Beef'n Bun (Whistle Stop?) you can see the gloom. I hear they have great shakes at this little restaurant. I wonder how many carbs are in a shake...
I also found the juxtaposition of the other sign amusing.
Rode down the hill to Santee, then down Prospect. There's a Bike Detour going on. From where, to where, I haven't a clue.
Be nice if LA MESA (That would be LA MESA, CALIFORNIA) had a few of those signs in certain construction zones!!!
And farther down the Prospect.
Stopped at the Mission Trails watering hole, had a drink from the fountain. As I'm not using my water bottle, because of the gopher poop incident; I haven't STERILZED it yet.
Rode UP the Jackson Drive hill in granny/granny, sometimes shifting to granny/not granny.
Rode around the lake, not accosting anyone, nor accosted BY anyone, not even humans accompanied by canines on leashes...
Followed a fellow a short way down Baltimore, until he turned off.
Why does this road have a bike lane coming UP the hill, but nothing going DOWN the hill?
And home again.
The odometer for the week is up to 42.2 miles.
Time to earl the chain.
Other stuff:
Saw this the other day. A gallon of gas is nearly as cheap as a pack of cigarettes. Have they kept step through the years? I remember when gas was $.29/gallon, but I didn't buy cigarettes then, so I don't remember their price. Well, actually I did, but they were English Ovals or Players. I just don't REMEMBER what they cost!!!
Found this (it's an audio cassette, kids) while I was looking for kite stuff yesterday. It's Seikima II!!
The picture is printed on the liner, but otherwise the writing appears to be hand-written. The songs don't seem to match any of the albums on their discography, so I guess it's a pirate. My Japanese is sadly lacking, so I dinna canna read much of it!
