I walked up to Grossmont Nutrition to buy a birthday card (52¢), and then over to the grocery story to pick up something. It was pretty warm, but breezy, too, which was nice. It was quite possibly 85°F with a wind of around 7 mph. I wore a white long-sleeved shirt, and the totally geek Sequel desert hat with integral neck cape. I had put sun block on my delicate hands (and a touch on the snozz), so I was pretty much ready.
I observed that my carbon footprint was pretty much less than everyone else on the road at that minute. I reflected that I don't know why I ride a bicycle.
- It is not for environmental reasons.
- It's not REALLY to save money, since I DO have a vehicle and make payments, etc.
- It's not because I LIKE it (Who REALLY like's hills, eh?).
Eventually I arrived home. The round trip was around six miles. It took about two hours. I was about as tired as when doing a twenty mile bike ride. Probably had nearly the same cardio workout. Let us face it, at a twelve mph average (on a GOOD day), the ol' heart ain't REALLY pumping all that hard!

Funny about the ice plant! It's good to mix it up a bit--cycling and walking...using different muscles and all. Jacob got a stripe in karate. He's now working his way to an orange belt. We also checked on our friends dog. We've been dogsitting since last Sunday. Our friends will be back tomorrow morning (Kona). Still coughing from my cold but I can tell it's finally going away. Tomorrow afternoon I have P.T. Usually go on Thurs mornings but my therapist is getting married this weekend so I needed to schedule for Tuesday...then she's off for Tahiti for her honeymoon. Next week is ou wedding anniversary (Monday) and Thurs we'll be heading to Comic Con. We're hoping to see Stan Lee that afternoon.
