I wanted to document the construction project that is causing bicycle problems on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa. It seem to me that MOST construction projects pay no heed to bicyclists.
By the way, you can click on all the pictures to visit zooomr and see them in all their large size glory, read any humorous comments I may (or may not) have made, and look at the GeoTags to see where the photos were taken. Coolness! The start of the construction area.
Why do they put the signs IN the bike lane?
The lane is narrowing, where are bicyclists supposed to go?
Narrower and narrower. Take the lane!
I suppose I COULD be in the bike lane here.
Yellow light, better stop!
Sharing the road.
No alternative bike lane signage, what's up with that?
Almost to safety!
Finally, the end of the construction zone, and safety!
Well, I just just think they could have handled this construction zone better, with some sign letting the car drivers know they would need to share the road, or signs telling the bicyclists where to ride.
Saw the sad remains of this book on Fletcher Parkway. Looks familiar, I wonder what it is?
Here is the much-requested Horse That Looks Like A Dog
El Cajon on a spring morning, looking to the east from Fletcher Hills.
What do you suppose this area is? Looks like one of those old gas station pollution systems, but I'm sure there was never a gas station there!
The San Diego River in near-rampant spring flood stage. Well, maybe not so much...
And then home again, home again.
For a total of 25.01 miles, at an exceedly slow pace! I blame my slowness on the radiation treatments. Yeah, that's it! That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
The headset nut is coming loose. I am perturbed at this. Those Park headset wrenches don't seem to fit very well and I'm afraid to crank down on them, plus the nuts ARE aluminium, don't yah know. I think some blue Loctite is in the cards.

Ha ha! The horse that looks like a dog picture! Makes me feel like I need to spruce up our horse that we have in the backyard. Loved the other pics. Your camera takes great pictures. And you're definitely right about the safety problem regarding the construction project on Fletcher Parkway!!! Here, here!
