One of the shoelaces on my, uh, shoes, got chopped a bit from the chainring. Right side, of course! I did not have a spare aglet (which I insist on spelling "anglet" which is a town in France, I find. But I digress...) so having seen the Barefoot Contessa (I think it was) make a mess of her invitations with frayed nylon rope, I decided I would try to whip the ends.
Speaking of shoe laces caught in the chainrings, it is quite the thrill to get one's foot laced tightly to the bike and then try to come to a graceful stop, especially when one has pulled the left toe strap perhaps a little too tight...
So I did, with bookbinding thread (Gaylord Irish Linen 18/3). And some book glue (Demco Norbond). Just to make sure.

I used The Book Of Rope And Knots, by Bill Severn, as my guide.
After work I biked over to a new geocache at Eucalyptus Park. Sadly, I was not first, but third.
On the way home I passed rather near to downtown La Mesa, home of the Back To The 50s car show on Thursdays. I saw what may have been a Lotus Super 7, or maybe a Caterham 7, or maybe even some sort of replica kit-car, who knows? Did not have the camera with me, so it will forever remain a mystery.
I've been having some problems with my mouse here at the ol' homestead. The left button sticks rather erratically, which makes editing images quite the adventure. I borrowed a mouse from work, and it works fine, so I guess I need to buy a new mouse.
Total riding miles for the week is pretty darn close to fifteen miles, as I recall.
