Bike To Work Day 2011

Rode the bike (Jamis) up to Grossmont College to the Bike To Work Day pit stop so to pick up a Bike To Work Day shirt and a few granola-type bars for to eat.  I saw a few other cyclists out there. The pit stop crew said I was the third biker to visit them.  I thanked them for their service and headed off to work.

Upon arriving at work I noticed this very sad-looking cruiser bike in the bike racks. It is not even locked up! Seems to have a problem with a few spokes, though. Not to mention the seat! Ouch!



After work I took a pic of me so as to memorialize the Bike To Work Day shirt for all eternity, which may be rather a short time, what with the End Of The World™ tomorrow!



Yesterday, I stopped by the bike shop (not Performance) and purchased a couple of Rema tube patching kits. The final cost came to a bit more than I had calculated in my head ($10.85), but I figured there was tax and such. What ever I thought "such" was... I looked at the receipt today and found I was charged for two Kool Tire Lever sets.  I guess I'll have to visit them tomorrow and see what the deal is, man.

Here is a pic showing the difference in size and components of the Rema TT02 and TT01 patch kits. The TT02 kit has a flammable symbol showing, does that mean the glue in the smaller kit is not flammable? The larger TT02 kit has a $2.99 price tag on it.



Total mileage for the week is just over twenty miles.  Too much rain this week!
