I THOUGHT I would be able to access the caches from the road. Oh no, the reservoir people have quite another idea. The road is totally locked out around the 2.5 mile point, and you must travel a very narrow trail from then on. I did quite a bit of pushing the bike over some quite rough spots, but was able to cruise for bit, too. There was a tremendous amount of vegetation, WEEDS! My shoes and socks were COVERED with weed debris. My stupid "breathable" hiking boots have the perfect fabric for catching those little weed seeds I call "wheat". I spent an hour picking them out with tweezers, but I did not NEARLY get them all. Next time, leather boots!
A wide spot in the trail.
A passing cyclist, a REAL mountain-biker, told me of a rattlesnake he chased off the trail a few minutes earlier. I did not see any rattlesnakes, but I did see a very fast moving snake later on.
I found 13 geocaches today, that puts me at 408 total.
