The distance ridden today was 41.61 miles (66.98 km)
The riding time was 3 hours, 21 minutes (and 54 seconds!)
My average speed was 12.42 mph (19.99 km/h)
My cousin commented, on the last ride to the bay, that my average was pretty good, especially since I was geocaching along the way. I didn't tell him that the riding time doesn't include geocaching, stop lights, or any rest stops I may take. Heh, heh!
My "away from home" time today was six hours. So my "geocaching" time may have been as much as two and a half hours. Or, one hundred and fifty minutes. Divided by fifteen, that would make my average time-on-cache around ten minutes each.
At the bottom of the bay is the salt works. I took a picture to the north:

I took a picture to the southeast:

And I took a picture to the southwest:

You WILL see these yellow flowers again!
You will also remember that all these photos, pretty much, are much larger on the zooomr page. Just click the photo to go there. They are mostly all geotagged, too, so you can see where they were taken
I saw a lady on some sort of lever-cycle. You "pedal" it standing up, pushing on levers. I don't think there is a seat. It looks very unusual. Why didn't I take a pic?
From the end of Lagoon Drive, where many homeless folks are encamped, you can see a variety of ships at the shipyard to the south,

and a bunch of junk looking towards Gunpowder Point to the north.

Now, the reason I was out there on Lagoon Drive was, I was trying to find a folk art project that I had seen on television some years ago. It might have been on California's Gold, it might have been on About San Diego, or maybe something else. All I found was a bunch of homeless folks, though. And yellow flowers.
A bit farther north I saw a ship in the distance. It's one of those automobile carriers of the Eukor line. Built by Hyundai, interestingly enough.

And here we are along the bike path near Plaza Bonita shopping mall.

Riding along Bonita Road I saw a teenager wearing a fox mask, fully-furred, riding a bicycle. He made growling noises at me. I gave him a thumb's up! Another picture opportunity missed, though.
And eventually I made it home!
Style Man implies tying one jacket around one's waist is déclassé. So be it.
