Summary For The Year

How Many Miles THIS Year?

It is time for the summary of this year's bicycle activity!

Schwinn: 787 miles
Jamis: 2,422 miles

The total for both bike combined is: 3,209 miles

That is a little more than last year. Here is a chart I made:

Compared To My Vehicle

Last year the odometer reading was noted as being 5,416 miles. Today it is 6,776 miles. That is a difference of 1,360 miles. So, clearly I have ridden the bicycles a lot more than I have driven. Yay me!

What Else Have I Been Up To?

I fooled around with Jamis today, and in fact removed the chainrings. Then the boy came by and suggested Mexican food, so I dumped the whole greasy mess back on the dryer, turned out the lights, and left.

This morning I went out geocaching in the vehicle. I found one cache that was in this cute little park that is behind the old Coleman College/La Mesa Bowl building. I guess it is private property, so I SUPPOSE I was trespassing, but no one caught me. It had a very cute gazebo, some playground equipment, a vandalized brick barbecue, and a stage. But absolutely no people.



Later on I was at the notorious intersection of University and Baltimore and observed yet ANOTHER poor sap going straight across the intersection from the new turn-only lane. You can imagine the reception THAT got from folks shifting over from the go-straight lane to make the turn on to Spring Street. Yes, city planners, that little change is working out REAL well!
