Surprise! I'm back!

I took apart the pulleys to clean the crud and goop off of them, then I decided to take the derailer off and clean'n'grease the pivet. Well, I popped off the circlip that holds the bolt in there, and it flew off somewhere. I spent a half-hour looking for it. I moved everything. Twice. I swept. Everything. Thrice. I used TWO different magnets to try and pick it up, sweeping back and forth over the accursed carpet, and under the warsher and dryer. The cat LOVED the magnet on the long flexible handle. He thought I was playing with him! But, I just couldn't find that darn circlip.

I was listening to the radio. They were talking about the fall of the Berlin Wall, and interviewing David Haszellhoff, if you can imagine. He was no help, either.

Well, I gave up. That darn circlip must have magiced itself somewhere. I decided to continue the cleaning process. The derailleur was hanging by its cable, so I picked it up to clean out bolt-hole. Something small and shiny fell to the ground. The circlip.
