I took the usual path out to Fletcher Hills. Found a Mexican passport in the gutter. It expired in 2002. I left it there.
I picked up some rocks in the road over by Grossmont High School. I looked at the pine trees, trying to figure out if any of them were Torrey pines, but I don't think so. Not that I could tell the difference!
I wandered around downtown La Mesa a bit. Lots of people out walking their dogs, a few on bicycles walking their dog/dogs.
I saw a used car lot with some interesting cars, so I stopped and recorded some images.
This one I'm guessing is a 1974 Triumph Spitfire.

Here we have a rather un-attractive Mini Cooper. I didn't realize till just now that it is right-hand drive.

And lastly, a Rambler American 440. Early 60s. I hear the 440 was the deluxe model.

Reminds me of my old Rambler, a wedding present. A very cool car. Manual transmission, overdrive, reclining front seats, Sears (after-market) air conditioner.
There are a couple more pics of these cars over on the zoomr site.
Car lots full of older cars can be lots of fun!
I hopped on the bike and waited as a passing cyclist, with two little dogs on leashes, blew the stop sign while people were crossing from two opposite corners. I politely waited at the sign for the pedestrians to cross, one of which was a dog walker. They stopped to chat in the middle of the street. Or rather, in the street right where I wanted to go. So I sez to them, "Guys, if your gonna park here, I'm sneaking on through." And I did.
I headed on home, unloaded the rocks, and that was about that!
Miles for the week: 42.42 miles
How about that? Did not even plan it!
