Now, since I AM the BIG DORK, I feel very uncomfortable dealing with car dealership guys. After I signed the repair order for the oil change (and tire rotation, but NOT the super synthetic oil!) and took off on the bike, I got to wondering why the estimate was sixty dollars, and the the "special" coupon said "as low as $29.95". Obviously, "as low as" means it might BE that low in Dodah City, but in SoCal it's going to be a bit more. OK, I REALLY should have asked the guy! So what will the final cost be?
I road around the neighborhoods, but there were a lot more cars out since it wasn't Sunday morning. Duh! I wish I had brought along my camera so I could share a couple of the sights I saw. You remember the black '57 Chevy, the one I edited the tree out of? Here, let me refresh your memory.

The guy has ANOTHER '57ish wagon, but it is a bright lemon yellow! Looks really nice. Maybe another day.
Farther on down the road I saw a Honda with stick-on letters on the rear window that said, "OSAMA = SOCIALISM". How lame is that?
Eventually I made it home and finished reading Roller Skates, by Ruth Sawyer. I learned in my research that she is the grandmother of "Sal", of blueberries fame. Cool!
I also discovered that there are an inordinate number of fake virus scam sites associated with the keyword "pettyjohn". I let TWO virus scanners run for a few hours, just to make sure I hadn't picked up that stupid scam virus scanner trojan (or WHATEVER!) again!
The car guy called, so I hit the road again to pick up the vehicle.
In downtown L.M. I was passed by a truck with only one brake light. Eventually he parked, and I caught up with him and waited behind so I could tell him about it when he got out. But he waited for me to pass! We were at an impasse! He rolled down his window and waved me on, I pulled up and told him about the brake light, and he thanked me. The impasse was passed!
A bit further on I was passed by a very strange-looking car. It had a tall tower thingie sticking out of the roof. Hey, it's the Google Streetview car! I hope it had the cameras on, maybe I'll be on Streetview!
I picked up the vehicle, and it turned out that the bill was 44 bucks, with a ten dollar mail=in rebate. So, including tire rotation, I guess that's OK.
Bike mileage for the week, so far, is 51.44 miles.
Hey, did I mention that Donut Star on Fletcher Parkway is gone? Now I'll NEVER get one!

I hate it when you have to mail in for the rebate. Forgot about the cool '57 Chevy.
"Osama + Socialism"...bite me.
Me tired. Don't mind DSL except for having to get used of "springing forward" an hour.
Tonight we're seeing Adele at The House of Blues. Should be cool.
