PROTIP: Leg warmers go UNDER your bike shorts!
Thanks to Steve the L. for this tip! I did not have to adjust my leg warmers during the entire ride. Helps to have bike shorts that fit, too! Most of mine are very loose on the leg. Today I wore the slightly used ones he gave me, which fit very snugly.
I also wore arm warmers over my long-sleeved jersey, which were a bit of a trial to put on, the helmet liner, and glove liners. And the blue jacket. So I wasn't at all chilly.
Down on Morena Blvd. I saw this enterprise.

What a bad pun! By the way, if you live in the area and have lost a puppy, that's a Lost Puppy Found notice in the lower right-hand corner.
The goal of this ride was to take a picture of the BIG ANTENNA on Mt. Soledad. Before I got there I was reminded that there are a LOT of antennas on the mount.
Looking to the north:

Looking to the south from the same point:

It's hard to believe we're just a hair over 500 feet in elevation at this point!
Having reconnoitered the area with the kids the other month, I managed to find my way to the BIG ANTENNA without any trouble. And so, here's the pic!

The tower is in the lowered 25 foot postion, and can be raised to 85 feet. I'd LOVE to see that! The ham radio operator, KY6LA, has had some objections from his neighbors about the size of this sucker. Definitely not a stealth antenna!
I headed down Nautilus and turned onto the Fay Bike Path, encountering several dog-walkers, whom I greeted with a cheery "Good Morning!" as I zoomed around them.
And so to home!

I'm sure these days not many people remember Kramer vs Kramer. That antenna was "wicked" (Jacob's latest adjective) huge!
