Semi-Dry Thursday

Since it was finally sorta-dry after the BIG STORM I rode the bike, Jamis, to work this morning. About a mile from work I felt the rear end getting a little squiggly. Squigglyer and squigglier as I got nearer and nearer to my destination.

But I made it!

Deborah H. can verify the tire was soft, I made her squeeze the tire. At first she just sort of tentatively pushed on it, but I told her to put some "elbow grease" on it. And she did.

I popped the tire off and the tube at work (BEFORE work hours commenced!), and indeed there was a hole in it. I patched it, and we (that is, I) are (am) waiting for the patch to "cure" before I pop it back on!

ON ANOTHER note, I've been meaning to mention SOMEWHERE what a great radio station KCRW (89.9 FM) is, for me. Where else can one hear Frank Sinatra and the Velvet Underground in the same afternoon?

The gel shorts, they work good!

I better get back to work...

LATER: On examining the tire I noticed that it is THREADBARE, that is, the threads are bared!! Geez, no WONDER I keep getting flats! I can't believe I didn't notice it before. I shall have to wait till I get home to see how many miles are on the sucker. But I don't think it was all that many!!
