I had some vague plan to head towards the beach, but since I hadn't told my better half that I would be making an EPIC ride, I decided to just ride over to the dam and back, but sort of in reverse.
I coasted down down El Cajon Blvd., past San Diego State, and down Montezuma. It got colder and colder. I missed the bike path turnoff and had to make an inelegant crossing of the Fairmont to avoid going on to the freeway.
Saw a nifty Toyota Landcruiser for sale.

Since Zooomr declines to display the pictures I uploaded, you will be relieved that you do not have to view them, I'm sure!
Cruising along Mission Gorge road I saw a very large man walking along wearing just a t-shirt. Unbelieveable! There was frost covering the roofs of the parked cars, and this guy is practically nude!
After climbing a moderate hill and coasting down the other side, carefully avoiding the first of MANY runners, these in the bike lane, I turned off towards the Mission Trails Fr. Serra Multi-Use Dog Walker's Path. No walkers of dogs, but MANY runners. I swear I saw AT LEAST fifty! There was a good stiff breeze blowing, ice in the puddles, frost on the frence post, and all these runners.

And they seem to be having a fine time!
insert pathetic images of me blowing "icy breath? (is there a word for that?)
Over on Cuyamaca there was a pile of snow. Snow, in El Cajohn, who'd've thunk it?

I pedaled up the Fletcher Parkway Hill. You probably don't notice it when driving, but off to the right (north) there is a section of old Fletcher Parkway. It reminds of when I was a kid and riding down that old road with my parents.
Rode 21.38 miles today, in 1 hour, 47 minutes, and 39 seconds.
51.54 miles -21.38 = 30.16 miles till my goal of 3,000 miles for the year.
