Rode up to the library this morning, dropped off "The Wall" by Jeff Long, then rode over hill and dale until I got home. The odometer for the week reads 42 miles.

Saw these bikes in Balboa Park yesterday (We drove there.)

This Bridgestone has a very sturdy basket and a nifty skeleton head seat cover. It is secured with a cable lock (!) to the bike rack, and u-lock secures the rear wheel to the frame. I think I would have done it the other way around, myself.



This old Schwinn was on the opposite end of the bike rack. I think I would have straddled the rack just like this, but used a u-lock instead of a cable.
