It was a bit chilly, and very sunny, this morning as I headed out. I decided to call this "El Tour de los Cinco Cities." I thought it might be nice to take a picture of each "city" sign I came across. First border I crossed was into El Cajon on Fletcher Parkway.

There was a bit of a wind blowing as I got nearer to the crest. Old Glory was flying proud! Hey, that might make a good photo essay -- The Ride Of Flags!

From the top of Swallow Drive we can gaze into "The Box". No fog today!

I rode forth and back on Cuyamaca St. but I couldn't find a welcoming sign for Santee. El Cajon has one on THEIR side of the road. I DID find this...

I had been finding cans along the way, I ended up with around 10 individual cans, and one bag with and emptied six pack inside. Leaking.
Climbing Mission Gorge Road heading south, we enter San Diego. No, it's not the same image as last week. Same sign, different day!

Oh, and I thought San Diego was "America's Finest City"? What's with THAT slogan? Seems faintly apologetic.
At the top of the hill a very relaxed-looking guy passed me, commenting that it looked like I had a flat. Hey, was that a cut?
Circumventing Lake Murray by going by way of the newly-paved (at least, the San Diego part) Baltimore Drive, we come across the pretty nearly always classy La Mesa.

That's it, a tour of five cities: La Mesa, El Cajon, Santee, San Diego...whoopsie, that's only four! Crud!

Oh I don't think you understand -- you can park ANYWHERE as long as you put on your Hazard lights.
</sarcasm>
But they are NOT on, see attached pic sent under separate cover!
Loved the tour post. The alternate San Diego slogan killed me ;).
