That's the brakes

Put new brake pads on the Jamis today, front AND back. Aztrecs.

I really don't like how these v brakes don't let the pads wear more. I keep thinking I will switch to catilevers.

Or maybe I don't know how to adjust them properly.

I get a bit more wear by putting the pad from the left side on the right side and vice versa - since the pads usually wear at an angle I use the "unused" portion on the other side.

I also like to use threaded brake pads instead of the thinline V-brake pads - it took a bit of fiddling to get them to fit, but they last a lot longer!

The Aztecs I'm using have the threaded stem thing. They look very like the Kool-Stops in your link, I think. I like the little tip thing on the Kool-Stops, I had forgotten about that. With the Aztecs I keep dropping the cardboard spacer. I like your tip about switching the pad from left to right, I had noticed they were wearing differently.

I shouldn't complain too much, I did get about a year's worth out of them, as opposed to the original equipment which lasted about 4 months!
