Rode to the dam this morning, but didn't follow the Dam Ride precisely. Stop to watch a helicopter lifting stuff at Grossmont center, which I've seen before, but this time I took a little movie of it.
Out in Santee at the intersection of Cuyamaca and N. Marshall/Weld I observed a guy on a bicycle (NOT a cyclist!!) riding on the trolley tracks (while the trolley was coming). I don't mean crossing the tracks, I mean parallel-to-the-rails. And a minute later saw a not-a-cyclist riding against traffic on Cuyamaca, heading south.
Saw the couple with the puppy on what I have learned is the Father Junipero Serra Trail, formerly the Padre Dam bike path.
Here's a picture of the "backside" of Cowles Mountain taken near the trail head at Mesa and Prospect

Lot of people walking their dogs at Lake Murray. Time for a photoessay?
Did the 12.8 miles in the first hour of the ride.
Total trip was 22.3 miles in 1 hour, 46 minutes EXACTLY*!
*Not counting stoplights, etc.
