I, of course, rode the bike to work today.
Actually, it wasn't bad, just a bit irritating to the eye and throat. A pleasant smell of burning wood. Except it wasn't a fireplace, it was the WHOLE EAST COUNTY!!! AGAIN!

That's not haze, that's smoke to the southeast.
A little later in the morning looking to the north-ish at Cowles Mountain. Which is not on fire. Yet. I don't know how much has been burned, but I heard 200,000 acres, but I can't verify that. LATER: Yes, I can verify that!
Shows the clear blue sky over San Carlos (San Diego). You wouldn't think that 250,000 people have been asked/told to evacuate their homes!
Looking to the east this afternoon, looks ominous!! The Governator is sending 1,200 National Guard troops to help out.
Looking towards the south over the hump at Baltimore and El Cajon Blvd. Smoke is quite a ways to the south, but note the blue sky above! So different from the last fire. That was a yellow haze, like a yellow fog, with ash falling on everything.
The mayor is asking people to stay off their cell phones, and stay off the freeways. Time to fire up the two-meter HT!
Oh, yeah, bike stuff. Two rude people today, one apparently could not see my BIG LIGHT and BIG STROBE in the DARK this morning, tried to BACK out of a driveway into me, just after pulling INTO said driveway. Moran. The other rude-o drifted into the bike lane a bit much on a curve this afternoon.
Work is canceled tomorrow, so no bike ride.
Hope the wind doesn't change for us, hope it changes to the fire fighter's advantage.
I had something hysterically funny I thought of while talking to my daughter this afternoon, but I forget what it was. Alas.
